12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS WITH ADEOLA

PART 1- HOW WE KNOW IT’S ALMOST CHRISTMAS: The harmattan is a vibe on it own it tells you it’s almost Christmas in a funny way. The cracked lips, feet and white legs are great signs.

While other countries enjoy the rest of the year snow skating and building snowmen, we cope with the hot and dusty winds by day and cold, dry windy nights. Yes, Harmattan season(mostly end of November to mid-March) is here again to expose those people who fail to cream their bodies(wahala for who no get goya oil oo).  Even with the troubles of having more clothes on, I appreciate the harmattan season at least laundry dries faster and Naija roads seem to be more accessible but you sure do not want to walk around like a ghost; white legs, cracked lips, dry face, and maybe white eyelashes. Kaduna is currently enjoying the cold night and as I write this I am putting on a big sweater.

I’ll be sharing with you list of items in my Harmattan Magic Box that has helped me survive the dry nostrils, chapped lips, scorching sun and dehydration and has also helped me slay every harmattan season. Below are the 9 major content of our “Harmattaan magic box”.

  1. Water bottle: Water is really important this season. The dryness of the season will result in an increase in your water intake, to help you stay hydrated. Your skin naturally glows and pops when you are hydrated.

2. Petroleum jelly:  Vaseline is a type of petroleum jelly and it will never disappoint. It’s helpful because of petrol that help seal your skin with a water protective layer that prevents your skin from drying. It is also multi purpose, can work on both lips and skin.

“Don’t forget to keep an eye on it, as the weather can get warm and melt it”

3. LIP BALM: Chapped lips are one of the effects of the weather on your skin and there is nothing attractive about it. Be sure to have a lip balm on the move wherever you go for frequent touch ups. No body likes cracked lips, Slay baby.

4. SUNGLASSES: Sunglasses are not only going to make you look badass but also protect your eyes from dust and sunburn. They are perfect for deflecting dirt and dust.

5. SWEATERS/ CARDIGANS/ JACKET:  I know you are saving for Bone straight but “na person wey cold no kill dey wear Bone straight” (only a person who is alive can wear Bone straight wigs). Invest in sweaters and make sure they are always kept close. I can even refer you to my plug, check out Prich gram store Here and slay this harmattan season. Alternatively you can check out his Instagram page here

Prich gram never miss

6. SOCKS: what is harmattan without cracked heels and strong feet and this is not a pretty sight, to avoid stories that touch kindly protect yourself with a long pairs of socks. Before covering your legs try moisturing them or seal them with shea butter.

7. HEADWARMERS: if you leave your head out you have just made a sacrifice to the harmattan wind. You have also signed a contract with headaches, clogged nostrils, sickly hair, itchy eyes etc and that not where you want to be this harmattan season and most especially Christmas. Own a head warmer dear.

8. GLOVES: This very important too because your fingers are very vulnerable and exposed.

9. FACE MASK: For some reasons aside the dust and all, Face mask became a big necessity this year. Yea you got it Corona virus. Protect your self from harmattan dust and corona virus with a face mask.

A blog post is enough for the wise. Make sure to check out “TOP TEN FASHION BLUNDERS WE MAKE” to get your slay to the top.

  1. […] THE CHRISTMAS CLOTH: Christmas as kids is not complete without the Christmas cloth. Drip is important and what is drip without the new pair of jeans, shirt and those killer plastic sunglasses and the new hairstyle with a lot of beads. I really don’t know if this was done everywhere, but my mom will wrap our outfits on Christmas Eve while we slept and claim Father Christmas brought it. Funny we believed. DON’T FORGET TO CHECK OUT HARMATTAN STARTER PACK HERE […]
